Another Big Win for the Team at Van Mossel Esplanade saw the team take 1st Place at the 2024 Volvo VISTA World Finals
An incredible achievement has been earned by two standout members of the Van Mossel Esplanade team – Matt Williams, Aftersales Manager, and Mike Trigg, Volvo Master Technician. Representing both the dealership and the entire UK, the duo competed last week in the prestigious 2024 Volvo VISTA competition in Sweden… and emerged victorious with the 1st place finish!
For those unfamiliar, VISTA (Volvo International Service Training Award) is one of the largest automotive competitions in the world. It brings together elite technicians and service teams from more than 38 countries – over 16,000 participants in total – to take on rigorous challenges designed to test their technical knowledge, precision, and Volvo expertise.
Out of all those talented teams, Mike and Matt came out on top. A massive congratulations to both – what a phenomenal accomplishment!
Whilst in Gothenburg, Sweden for 5 days the pair were also treated a timetable of unforgettable activities, including:
- Touring the Volvo Factory/World of Volvo
- Meeting with the first Swedish man to travel to space, Christer Fuglesang
- Archery & clay pigeon shooting
- Driving a split-steering car around a track
- Tackling an inverted driving challenge
- A boat trip
- And sampling plenty of Swedish food – including Mike’s favourite, "Bastard Burger"
Reflecting on the experience, Matt said:
“It was an unforgettable week – both for the competition and everything we got to see and do. We didn’t expect to win, especially up against such talented teams from across the world, but we gave it our all. To come home with 1st place is something we’re really proud of.”
